David Buckland, Sam Asaert : Too Ot To And ..
May 31-Jul 26 2019 - 36 days left
Too Ot To And .. offers a glimpse into contemporary dance with the work of David Buckland and Sam Asaert. In David Buckland's case Too Ot To addresses the lineage of artistic endeavor that spans the moment in time of the diversified punk subculture of 1980's London, right before the culture became coarser and more reactionary. Sam Asaert's of Silence is a short film made in collaboration with choreographer Andrew McNicol. It is an intimate film that plays with the audience's perspective, using mixed speeds of dance and camera movement. Asaert addresses the contrast between intimacy and vastness, conflict and freedom, in the face of a bleak collective future, while encompassing the individual yearning for a past long gone. Opening Reception: Fri, May 31, 6-8pm.
