- 13 days left
Reception: June 1, 6-8 PM
In this solo exhibition titled "KIMONO REBORN", Mayuko Okada will present 15 artworks, including an installation, using the fabric of kimonos as a material and making full use of the technique of embossed painting.
Oshie is a traditional Japanese craft technique in which cotton is wrapped in kimono fabric to create three-dimensional patterns. In this solo exhibition, while using traditional kimono fabrics, Okada will present works under the theme of beauty and life regeneration, injecting a modern approach and creativity.
With the change of times, it is no longer worn. However, kimonos that are too beautiful to be thrown away have been given new life, and this exhibition will allow you to enjoy the possibilities of contemporary art that fuse creativity and innovation.
