Bobbi Beck started doing tapestries after attending art college in the late sixties. At that time only oil paints were available for her to do her art. Not being able to tolerate the odors, she remembered the Medieval tapestries she loved so much as a child, first seen on her early museum visits. What interested her so much was the storytelling those early woven fabrics were able to convey.
