With a Single Step: Stories in the Making of America
Sep 01 - Dec 31 2020 - 220 days left
With a Single Step: Stories in the Making of America, MOCA’s new core exhibit, will bring to life the Museum’s unique historical content and birth a compelling art work by fusing itself with the architectural heart of its new home designed by Maya Lin on Centre Street. This presentation is an innovative approach to museum and exhibition design. It will facilitate a new way of interacting with content: through the evocative use of space that stirs visitors’ emotions and breaks down barriers to deeper learning and understanding.
Godzilla vs. The Art World: 1990-2001
May 21 - Sep 13 2020 - 111 days left
Godzilla vs. The Art World: 1990-2001 will examine the work of the Godzilla: Asian American Art Network, which launched a generation of young artists and curators. It catalyzed a needed political and aesthetic conversation at a critical time in the histories of alternative arts, “multiculturalist” politics, and the shifting Asian diaspora. And it produced a body of exhibitions, collaborative projects, critical writing, and connections that reshaped the contours of American art. Curators: Herb Tam, Ryan Lee Wong.
