New York Center for Photographic Art : Black and White
Dec 11, 2022
By ExpoArtist staff. Updated Oct 05
BLACK AND WHITE : Photography, in its infancy, was entirely about black and white or monochrome images. Color was an after print add on. NYC4PA, with this call, is once again focusing on one of our favorite themes - Black and White celebrating those images still so central to the field of photography despite the introduction of color film and the vast array of image capture and post process adjustment software. Send us your monochrome images where all the emotion, texture and beauty are expressed in shades from white to dark. No matter if your original image was shot with tri x, a digital SLR, or your phone, if the end product is a terrific monochrome image (Black and White or Sepia), it fits the call. As with all NYC4PA calls all 2D photo mediums are welcome. EXHIBITION AND AWARDS: There will be 10 cash prizewinners, 20 Juror Selections and 20 Honorable Mentions. CASH PRIZES: Grand Prize: One photographer will receive $1,100. The image will be featured on the home page of the NYC4PA website. First Prize: 3 photographers will each receive $400. Second Prize: 3 photographers will each receive $325. Third Prize: 3 photographers will each receive $250. ONLINE GALLERY, CATALOG and AWARD CERTIFICATE: All prizewinners will be included in both the online gallery and catalog and be presented with a certificate. DEADLINE: December 11, 2022.

Jan 06, 2023
By ExpoArtist staff. Updated Nov 09
The 2023 AnkhLave Garden Project Fellowship is a year-long program, where five BIPOC artists based in NYC will be selected to create site-specific work in both a public space as well as a traditional gallery. For the first half of the program, they will produce public works to be displayed late spring through the fall at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden with the Theme - “Branching Out: Trees as Community Hosts”. Brooklyn Botanic Gardens will pay an artist honorarium of $1,000 and will reimburse up to $1,000 in expenses (materials, fabrication etc.). Four of the five artists will create their own interpretation of the theme with that amount, while one of the five will receive up to $10,000 for the expenses/fabrication/installation of an original treehouse inspired land enclosure. The second half of the program will culminate in an exhibition in a traditional gallery space. Deadline: January 6th, 2023.

New York Center for Photographic Art : Same But Different
Jan 22, 2023
By ExpoArtist staff. Updated Oct 29
SAME BUT DIFFERENT : The New York Center for Photographic Arts (NYC4PA) invites photographers world-wide to submit images using any photographic process (print, image transfer, emulsion transfer, encaustic, black and white, etc.). For this call NYC4PA is challenging photographers to pair two photographs and submit them in diptych format (both images in one file). The images in each file will be “almost” the same but different enough to make each unique. You may have two versions of an image that you processed differently, or the same scene shot at different times of day. EXHIBITION AND AWARDS: All award winners will receive an NYC4PA award certificate, be included on the NYC4PA Online Gallery and in the 2023 SAME BUT DIFFERENT catalog. Cash award winners will receive $3,000 in prizes, the Grand Prize winning image will be posted on the NYC4PA home page and, and Winners and Juror’s Selections will be invited to participate in a gallery show, in April 2023 at the JADITE GALLERY in the exciting Hell’s Kitchen area in Manhattan. DEADLINE: January 22, 2023.
